A study of nearly 38,000 patients found Caucasian, Hispanic and female patients have the fewest complications and the shortest hospital stays after laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery, according to University of Nebraska Medical Center researchers who presented their findings today at the 27th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.

Frosty The Polar Bear Dies At Denver Zoo
The Denver Zoo is mourning the loss of Frosty the polar bear. The 25-year-old male was euthanized Thursday after suffering declining health because of liver cancer. The zoo said he was the oldest male polar bear living in captivity in North America. Polar bears typically live for between 20 and 25 years.
