Lose Weight By Dancing

Attention Zumba dancers–want to learn how to shake your hips and booty?

Lose Weight by Dancing

Lose Weight by Dancing

Do you love Zumba, but do you know that you could get more out of the class if you could just “get” the hot hip and booty shaking dance moves?

Dance teacher Theresa Stevens saw a real need here, and created a fantastic dance program called “How to Shake Your Booty in 30 Days!”

Theresa shares, “As a Zumba Instructor and a lover of all-things Zumba, one thing I noticed is that most people who dance Zumba pretty much shuffle through all of the hot hip and booty shaking Latin moves.”

“People are having so much fun dancing, but most of my students have wished that they knew how to shake their hips and booty.”

“They knew that if they could ‘get’ the dance moves, they would have more fun dancing, they would lose more weight, and they would feel more successful and even more committed to Zumba.”

Most people who dance Zumba, LOVE Zumba. But because Zumba is focused on making the dance/work-out feel like a party, there are no specific directions on how to get your hips and booty to undulate and shake while you dance.

Because the choreography is hot and repeats with the verses and choruses of the music, most people feel really successful in “getting” the basic steps. But they miss out on getting the flavor, the delicious feeling of looking confident, feeling sexy, and looking graceful while you dance, and the maximized weight-loss and health results.

Latin dance is “poly-rhythmic”–meaning that within the basic steps, there are lots of micro movements, the most delicious of which is knowing how to shake your hips, shoulders, and booty!

That’s why dance instructor Theresa Stevens created the program “How to Shake your Booty in 30 Days!” To teach Zumba dancers and instructors exactly how to shake their hips and booty. Theresa is a gorgeous and inspiring dance teacher and she definitely knows how to “break it down” and make each student feel successful!

Here are what a few of her students have said about her program:

“Now I understand the movements I am doing in Zumba. I was just following but now they make sense. I am having a blast! And now I finally know how to shake my booty!”

“Before I met Theresa, I felt stiff while dancing. I wanted to get more moves in during my fast-paced Zumba classes, learn more about the sexy Samba, as well as lose a bit of weight. Since dancing with Theresa, I can move faster, I feel more fluid in my movements, I lost several pounds, and I have more range of motion in my body. Feeling more sexy and alive was an added benefit. Thank you, Theresa, goddess-teacher extraordinaire!”

Plus, Theresa’s “How to Shake Your Booty in 30 Days!” DVD also comes with a bonus DVD that Zumba dancers and instructors WILL NOT want to miss!

Theresa can teach you how to dance Samba!

Many people try to learn Samba as a complicated foot dance and are very frustrated as a result. Theresa teaches you how to dance the elusive and gorgeous Samba dance through connecting with your core, inner thighs, and hips.

Not only will these DVDs empower you to have more fun, feel sexy and alive, and meet your weight-loss and health goals in Zumba; you will lose weight and tap into your natural beauty and grace as you dance with Theresa. Just  Click Here! for more information.

Does anyone know any good weight loss programs that are good for diabetics?

A friend of mine is interested in starting a weight-loss program, but is type 2 diabeties. She cannot handle any sugars whatsoever, and has to limit herself to VERY few carbs. With this being said, does any know, preferebly from experience, any good weightloss programs for diabetics? Something where the food can be ordered, such as NutriSystem, where you don’t have to go to the place to participate. Thanks in advanced~~! Links would be much appreciated,

Why do they only use thin people to advertise weight loss programs?
If you’re thin – then you don’t need to lose weight. Why don’t they use over weight people and then show the changes?

RoseLepage answers:

because no one wants to hear a fat person saying how easy it is to lose weight on a certain program and that you should ‘join today’. it seems hypocritical.
on every weight loss ad I see they show before and afters where they start off fat though.

Ruth asks…

There are numerous weight loss programs in our society that?

There are numerous weight loss programs in our society that recommend low carbohydrate and high protein diets. What are some of the benefits that proteins provide when included in a balanced diet, and what are the dangers of overconsumption of proteins? What effects do these diets have on the body, both short-term and long term?

RoseLepage answers:

Protein (along with carbohydrates and fats) is one of the three macronutrients your body needs to function properly. It has many health benefits which include helping your body build and repair cells, helping your body produce antibodies, enzymes and hormones and helping your cuts heal. However, you can get too much of a good thing and protein is no exception. In this article I am going to be outlining four of the drawbacks of eating too much protein.

1) IT CAN HAVE A DEHYDRATING EFFECT:- In a four week study that looked at five endurance athletes who consumed low, medium and high levels of protein it was found that increased protein consumption lead to lower levels of hydration. Dehydration can cause a number of serious problems including extreme fatigue, muscle cramps, headaches, muscle spasms, difficulty breathing and loss of consciousness.

2) IT PROMOTES FAT STORAGE:- Many people believe that you can eat protein to your hearts content and not get fat. However, if you eat too many calories (whether they come from carbohydrates, fat or protein) they ultimately get stored as body fat. Eating more of this macronutrient whilst eating the same amount of calories can stimulate fat burning in your body but eating too many protein calories will lead to fat storage.

3) IT CAN LEAD TO KIDNEY STONES:- When protein is broken down this creates acids such as uric acid which increases the acidity levels in your blood. To combat this your body releases the alkaline substance calcium phosphate from your bones into the bloodstream. Overall, this increases urine levels of uric acid and calcium which can then both form into kidney stones.

4) IT CAN LEAD TO OSTEPOROSIS:- As discussed above eating high levels of protein can lead to calcium phosphate being released from the bones. Low levels of calcium in the bones can cause osteoporosis to develop. Osteoporosis reduces your bone density and can lead to your bones bending, breaking and fracturing much more easily than normal, healthy bones.

As you can see protein is not a super nutrient. Whilst it has many valuable functions when consumed properly, eating too much can lead to the problems discussed above. Increasing your protein intake moderately can help you build muscle and burn fat. Therefore, if you decide to eat more protein make sure that you do not consume it excessively.
In my experience all the weight loss programs are for nought. You have to really , really want to lose weight and stick to it. A low Glycemic diet coupled with exercise is the best one I have found. I don’t feel cheated. Probably the only things I really miss are Potato’s. Other than that I am happy. OH, and pizza.http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm
When I lowered my intake of carbs and exercised my cholesterol and blood pressure went from high to normal. That high blood pressure is the real killer. Now mine is 118/68 resting.

This way of eating is a great way for the whole family to eat. If you do , there will not be any Type 2 diabetes in your family.

Good luck

Your questions about [Weight Loss]

Sharon asks…

can doing the HCG diet injections cause a false positive on a pregnancy test?

I have been on the HCG diet for 2 weeks and missed my period. I took 6 pregnancy tests and on blood test and they all came out positive. I stopped taking the injections for a week and still had a faint positive. How long does it take for the HCG to completely leave my system so I can get an accurate pregnancy test?

RoseLepage answers:

yes, that is the hormone your body produces from pregnancy. lack of nutrition from only eating 500 calories a day will cause a missed period. also, you can get an ultrasound to prove yes or no. if you were and missed the period because of it, it will show up from the ultrasound.

Ruth asks…

Where is a legitimate place to purchase drops for the HCG diet?

I keep hearing about so many peoples’ success using the HCG diet, and am really overwhelmed by all the places you can buy it online! I have read many bad things about the homeopathic HCG drops, such as they don’t even contain HCG.

If any of you are doing the HCG diet, where would you recommend getting the drops from? Are you really having as much success as you thought you would before starting the diet? Has anyone tried HCG platinum from GNC? Thank y’all for your help!

RoseLepage answers:

I would recommend getting the drops from http://www.prohcgdiet.com I did the drops from there and lost 16 pounds in 24 days and have kept the weight off for 4 months now.

Jenny asks…

How were your results from the HCG diet?

I just started the HCG diet and was wondering how it worked out for others. If you could include your age, starting weight, end and current weight. & anything else that you would like to include like your hunger effects, etc. Thank you!

RoseLepage answers:

I did the drops from prohcgdiet.com and lost 16 pounds on the diet in 24 days. Its now been 3 months since I did this diet and and I have not gained a pound since I went off of it. I have tried so many diets and this is a diet that I can really say was fun. Its so great to wake up every morning and see how much weight you have lost. My and my mom and sister all took the drops from Pro Hcg Diet which had good instructions and a great menu book too. Some girls from the office did the injections and lost about the same as I did so unless your into pain, get drops!

Good Luck!

Donna asks…

How old do you have to be to buy the hcg diet?

I am 16, I want to buy the hcg diet is there a age requirement?

RoseLepage answers:

u have to be 100 years old. sorry. ur off by about 84 years.

Carol asks…

can you start the hcg diet the last two days of your period or will that make the hcg not get into your system?

i am anxious to start the diet and i just got my period but i would like to start it asap. if i start it, the injections and the 2 days of gorging the last two days of my period, will the hcg get into my system enough for the diet to get off to a good start? any info would be helpful ,thanks ….also, does anyone know what kind of conditioner and shampoo to use?

RoseLepage answers:

The reason that Dr. Simeon’s says not to inject during your period is because your body actually produces HCG during the menstrual cycle. I may be wrong, anyone feel free to correct me. So injecting on those days would be a waste of your HCG. Also, the more HCG in your system, the faster you become immune. If I were you I would go ahead and start loading now to get your normal fat reserves up and then start injecting and loading for two more days after the period. I know I loading for a week this round, only because I have been on so many diets before and I wanted to make sure my normal fat reserves were full. I am on my 9th day now, and have not had even the slightest bit of hunger the whole week.

See the first week is sometimes hard since you may get hunger pangs, that is why we load, so that our body can run off our normal fat for the first few days and keep us content until the hcg gets into our system and mobilizes the abnormal fat.

Try to eat very high fat food, on my loading I had fried chicken, buttered biscuits, chocolate, donuts, peanut butter cups, chips, etc. LOL I feel so strange telling you to eat all that but enjoy it!

Also, whenever I am in the kitchen I wear gloves, only because I live with 8 other people and there is no telling what has oil on it. That’s right, even a drop of oil touching your skin will keep you from losing the next day. Be careful! Check all spices and foods for any sugar, oil, sugar alcohol, or aspartame(BAD).

As far as shampoo and conditioner, I am using the same I normally do. I have just reduced washing my hair to once or twice a week. I have curly hair so this is actually keeping my waves a bit more hydrated. The easiest thing is to just use your normal shampoo and conditioner and just wash your hair less. But expect to not lose on the day you shampoo and condition. Normal showers are fine though, with -bar soap with no oil in ingredients-, just rinse your hair with water or use a shower cap.

Btw, you WILL gain a lot of weight on your load days but don’t worry, you will lose every ounce of it within the first few days!

I have started the Dr. Simeon’s Protocol (original and only true HCG diet) about 5 times but different circumstances forced me to stop. I am finally able to do a full round, hopefully with no interuptions.

It has been 9 days:

I started at …………178 (after loading)
I am now at …………165
Round 1 Goal……….148 or less ^_^

A note, DO NOT freeze your HCG, no matter what anyone tells you. Just refrigerate. I lost a $70 bottle of HCG because I listened to someone else and froze it. HCG is very fragile and freezing ruins it.

Also, we can have vinegar and cucumbers on the diet, so some people say that means we can also have pickles. I have them sometimes. It’s up to you, I have been losing fine. Just another thing you may consider if you get bored with your food.

Another note :) , there is a diet soda called Zevia, that is sweetened with Stevia (a sweet plant). Zevia has no calories, no sugar, its all natural. I found a few cans at my local Whole Foods store for 99cents a can. I’ve had two cans in a week and a half, it tastes better than regular diet soda. Its nice to keep around for when you get a craving for soda. But don’t overdo it.

Email me if you have any other questions, I have a lot of tips for ya!

—BIGGEST THING TO REMEMBER!
—WATER < TEA < COFFEE...GET YOUR LIQUIDS IN and DONT EAT PAST 7PM (so your body has plenty of time to digest and flush out all the food and your weight in the morning will be correct)

What are some weight loss tips and ways to appear thinner?

I am a teenager with a problem and I need help so please help me… I’m  desperate. I have Lupus and when it flares up I have to take prednisone which causes weight gain. I want a higher self esteem. Please, can someone give me some weight loss tips like high calorie burning excersices, health food, some sort of plan and also tips to appear thinner. Thanks!

RoseLepage answers:

There are some good tips listed in the answers, here are a few more. Recent studies have shown that having eggs for breakfast will increase energy during the day and act as a natural weight suppressant. Have listed an article on using eggs as a weight loss food. Tracking your daily food intake and daily exercise will help a lot in determining how much you are really eating and working off each day. Have also noted a article that list a few easy ways to work exercise into your routine.

Paul asks…

What are your best tips for weight loss success?

I’m looking for some new weight loss tips, I work out regularly and I’ve cut out excess white sugar and complex carbs, how have you successfully lost weight?

Please, no advice if it hasn’t worked for you or someone you personally know :)

Thanks ahead of time for your answers, and I’ll be sure to pick a best answer to give those points!

RoseLepage answers:

I wish you had posted your present workout plan, but I can give you some tips to get you too the next phase of fitness.

If you can do LISS(low intensity steady state), early morning easy walking, even on a treadmill for 40mins on an empty stomach, you will burn fat, while holding onto your LBM(lean body mass), which is the key for you to burning fat. Always remember, if you do cardio and weights correctly, you will hold onto LBM, so you can burn fat. If you do things like run on a day you lift weights, you will burn up muscle, a no no, so always choose LISS early morning and 20mins after weights. If you want to run, or do run intervals, only run on days you don’t lift weights…..so again, you hold onto muscle.

For meals, you should be eating 5-6meals per day, protein/carbs/healthy fats(I wonder why you cut out complex carbs?) They are what supports energy building for LBM, along with protein and healthy fats…..so you boost your metabolism all day. You need to have the proper ratios to support LBM. Eat things like lean steak, grilled chicken breast, tuna, 1-yolk with 2 whites, toast, oatmeal, potatoes, cheerios, olive oil lightly drizzeled over your salad, 4 walnuts, danon light yogurt….with these choices, you can form 5-6 small meals or 2 as snacks easily!

If you can eat properly to support LBM, and ignore the scale weight, you will look terrific! The above are some of the rules and tips I use for my clients for success! With all my clients, they learn that the scale moves slowly or not at all, or sometimes they gain, but that is because their muscle to fat ratio is so high, and muscle weighs more, but they lose inches and feel great, and need to buy new clothes!

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Mandy asks…

What are some good tips for summer weight loss?

I’m hoping to lose weight for next summer, and I’m looking for some good weight loss tips.

RoseLepage answers:

After reading a lot of weight loss tips, I’ve caught myself saying “I’m not going to be able to do that!” I’m sure that we all have. A good summer weight loss tip is going to have to be something that you’d actually do, obviously. Keeping that mind, I hope that you’ll find the following weight loss tips helpful to you. Over the years they have helped me maintain my current weight, and they’ve also helped me lose weight as well. These are some of the easiest and most effective weight loss tips I’ve found.

At first, when I started trying to lose weight, I went along with the traditional attitude that eating snacks in-between meals was counter-productive to an effective weight loss program. I cut out snacks from my diet altogether as a result of that belief. I found that the problem was that by the time I sat down to start eating my meal, I was so hungry that I couldn’t control my portion sizes efficiently.

I found that I can keep my blood sugar at a decent level (and keep my appetite satisfied too) by eating more healthy and sensible snacks in between smaller meals. In fact, over the more recent years, research has shown that you can keep your body’s metabolic rate productive and steady by eating smaller meals spaced out throughout the day rather than the traditional “3 square meals” ideology. You can mix your carbs and proteins when selecting your snacks. Low-fat cheese on some wheat crackers and some grapes would be a great example of a healthy snack.

Portion control can be better managed, and if not, it will become a large stumbling block. You can purchase smaller, single serving foods, and use plastic bags to enforce portion sizes. You can always use regular sized foods, but use small plastic bags to separate out smaller portions in case buying single-sized foods turns out to be too much of a strain on your budget. That’s a great weight loss tip, since sometimes eating straight from the original packaging will cause you to eat more than you should.

The calories in the food will count just as much, even if the food is advertised as either low-fat or reduced in fat. Be sure to double-check your serving size by reading the food’s nutrition label. After measuring out the appropriate serving sizes, you can then store them in your plastic bags.

Another one of the greatest weight loss tips is ice water! Place a small bottle of water in your freezer. This is a great idea to keep your water cold, and most weight loss programs recommend drinking water anyway. After some time, the water will form a small block of ice inside the bottle as it begins to freeze. That small block of ice will continue to keep the surrounding water very cold as it melts.

Sometimes it’s boring to just drink plain water. Just for the sake of variety, you can keep low-calorie flavored waters in the refrigerator as well. Request an ice water with extra lemon slices in it when you’re dining out. Then, just add some artificial sweeteners and you’ve made diet lemonade to enjoy!

Most of the time, the regular versions of foods that you’re used to taste a lot better than their reduced fat and low-fat equivalents. However don’t be discouraged, and continue to try the low-fat and non-fat alternatives of your favorite foods. You might be surprised to find a low-fat version of your favorite food, and there’s a chance that you’ll like it more than the original.

You also might want to consider that there could be some places in your home that you associate with eating. You might stop and look for a snack while lingering around the kitchen – instead, leave the kitchen after eating. You might be tempted into eating a dessert if you sit longer at the dinner table after you’ve finished your meal. Instead, as soon as you’re finished eating, try getting up and going for a walk. You’ll enjoy the extra exercise, plus it will help get your mind off of eating, food, and snacks. You might need to change where you do things to stay away from these “problem areas” if you have a hard time fighting the temptation of food.

You can help yourself lose weight by breaking the habit of using food as a comfort and as a stress-reliever. You could listen to music, read a book, go for a walk or jog, or just do some exercise. The point is that each different activity you select can be a viable alternative to eating when you need to relieve stress.

Schedules can become hectic and full very fast. Squeezing weight loss programs in your already busy life can be a very difficult task. Sometimes it can be hard to find the time in one place, but it’s recommended to try and get at least 30 minutes of good physical activity each day. You can try to break your 30 minute block of time into smaller 10 or 15 minute blocks. You’ll be able to get some much needed exercise by spreading the smaller blocks of time throughout your evening and day.

Exercise is cumulative, and keep in mind too that getting more and more physical activity can help you burn off calories

Lisa asks…

What is are some of your favorite weight loss tips?

What are some of your most succesfull weight loss tips?? I have my few that I live by, but I am looking for some tips on cutting down. Please only share different/ unique tips.
I know about all the common ones…. lots of water lots of rest six small meals etc.

thank you so much in advance!

RoseLepage answers:

Hi CollegeGirl

In my opinion, no weight loss tips are truly successful on their own. Lots of water is not necessarily a good way, because how much water a person needs depends on the BMI of the person. 6 small meals maybe hard at times, especially when you are stuck at school or office and have no chance to eat, and then you need to eat more when you have the chance. Well, dieting is a good way to lose weight, but then it is hard to stick to a diet. For example, something like this:

Breakfast:
2 egg, low fat Cheddar cheese omelette – 320 calories
2 slices wholemeal toast with thin smear butter – 200 calories
Large slice melon – 47 calories

Lunch:
Spicy Turkey Salad recipe – 304 calories

Snack:

Another weight loss tip is to do interval and turbulence exercise.

Turbulence Training is a fresh plan that requires finishing three 45-minute exercise sessions each week with marginal equipment. It is an increasingly trend-setting fitness plan with the intention of helping you in the reduction of weight.

Interval training is the fitness world’s equivalent of a visit to the in-laws. The shorter and more intense the visit, the better. An interval is a short period of exercise performed at a given intensity for a specific length of time. Each interval is separated from the next interval by a short rest or lighter activity. There are no strict rules on how long or how intense the interval must be, however, changing the interval length or intensity changes the way your body works and responds to exercise.

But people have a short willpower. It may be strong at the beginning but will eventually fade as time goes on- as they realize that going on a diet is not actually as easy as they think it is. Of course, the strength of willpower differs from one person to another. This is the reason why there are people who can actually maintain a diet and exercise program for 1 year and there are people who can only maintain it for few months. Nonetheless, willpower is a big factor that dictates someone whether to continue losing weight or not.

And in my opinion, besides sticking to a diet and exercise plan, it is the ultimate willpower to stop yourself from overeating that is the #1 tip to lose weight. But that is the hardest part if you are accustomed to eating lots of food even though your body does not need it. It is partly because of the delicious taste of the food causing a craving for more. There are certain ways to fight this craving ad I found one that maybe helpful. It is a type of chocolate that can actually suppress your appetite. It will can provide Good Energy that promotes a healthy weight by providing energy while burning fat. And it helps suppress cravings for sugary snacks.

Good luck!

PS: Information on the Special Chocolate that I mentioned can be found on the website in the source box. Recently, they are giving away a one month free trial.

Chris asks…

has anyone used the chinese herb shou wu pian?

I was just wondering if anyone has used the chinese herb shou wu pian which has been recommended for regrowing hair? Any luck?

RoseLepage answers:

My aunt drinks it everyday for years! She is 50 now and everyone think she is only 30! She doesn’t even have wrinkles! Shou Wu is really good at turning your white hair back into black. My aunt makes me drink that too. However it tastes like…dust.

But you can have a try!Good luck!

Ken asks…

has anyone ever tried Wu Shou Pian?

has anyone ever used Wu Shou Pian?
if so did you notice that it made your hair blacker, thicker & longer?

RoseLepage answers:

The herb is called He Shou Wu. (The translation of these words is reported to be “Mr. Wu’s black hair) The word pian references the pill form.
Daily taking of this herb in an appropriate dose will support kidney essence and yin. A side effect will likely be the darkening of your hair over a long period of time, maybe several months. The color on my hair comes in with a steel wool gray.
The herb is available in processed, dried form at an Chinese pharmacy as well as in pill form and capsules. It is sometimes spelled Ho Shou Wu in English.

George asks…

Does anyone know what Shou Wu Pian mean in Chinese?

RoseLepage answers:

meaning
1.Shou Wu Pian, Shou Wu Tablets, is a natural herbal supplement made of herb

Shou Wu Pill and Shou Wu Pian are, besides Shen Min, some of the best known Chinese, natural, herbal supplements marketed worldwide as remedies for reversing gray hair and baldness.
Their principal active ingredient is Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu, polygonum multiflorum), a Chinese herb that in Chinese traditional medicine is believed to be among the best herbs for restoring hair colour and reducing hair loss. Shou Wu Pill, in addition to Fo-Ti, contains a small amount of Fu Ling mushroom (poria cocos, similar to European truffle) that is added to enhance the digestibility and absorption of Fo-Ti. The third component of Shou Wu Pill, Chuan Xiong (ligusticum wallichii), is used as a messenger herb to focus the action of Fo-Ti on the head and hair. Shou Wu Pian formula is also built around Fo-Ti as its principal active ingredient, the effectiveness of which in this formula is enhanced by various other Chinese medicinal herbs.

(some doctors dont recommernd patients to use this kind of pills)

RoseLepage answers:

it’s pinyin, phonetic transcription…
the words are not connected and the tones are not indicated…
it’s rather guessing than translating…
